Kanpur: A speeding SUV crashed into the house of an ARTO in the Rawatpur police station area of Kanpur, smashing through the guard room and then breaking the main gate before entering the premises, police said.The watchman on duty narrowly escaped as he went inside to drink water about a minute before the crash. The incident took place at around 2 am and was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the house.After the accident, the car driver and his companions abused and assaulted the guard and tried to flee after nearby people intervened. The guard dialled 112 and informed the police. Rawatpur police station personnel reached the spot after receiving information and brought two youths along with the car to the police station. The driver was identified as Karan Bhadauriya. Station in-charge Kamlesh Rai said that the car driver was in an intoxicated state.ARTO Rajesh Rajput, a resident of Vikas Nagar in Rawatpur, is posted in Mathura. His family includes his wife, Sheela Rajput, and two children, who live away from home for their studies. He was transferred from Kanpur to Mathura about two years ago. Sheela Rajput said that she went to Mathura with her husband just two days ago. Sheela Rajput filed a written complaint at Rawatpur police station, demanding action. Police said a case was registered based on the written complaint, and further action was being taken.
