T’puram: BJP announced the first list of candidates for the assembly election on Monday. Union minister George Kurian will contest from the Kanjirappally seat. BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar will contest in the Nemom seat and former Union minister V Muraleedharan will once again seek mandate from Kazhakkoottam. BJP former state president K Surendran will contest from Manjeswar, from where he had lost by a whisker in 2021. Former DGP and Sasthamangalam corporation ward councillor R Sreelekha has been named the candidate in Vattiyoorkavu. While party state vice-president C Krishnakumar will contest from Malampuzha, Sobha Surendran has been given Palakkad seat.The BJP central election committee chaired by party president Nitin Nabin finalised a list of 47 candidates.
