Hisar: Three months after her marriage, a woman allegedly fled her in-laws’ house in Hisar with gold and jewellery. The groom’s family has accused a middleman of orchestrating the match and taking Rs 50,000 on the pretext of arranging the wedding.The complainant, Kanta, a resident of Quarter 12 area, reported to the superintendent of police (SP), seeking action and recovery of the money. She said her son Ajay, who has two children from his first marriage, required support in managing the household, prompting the family to arrange a second marriage.She alleged that Suman, a resident of Shiv Nagar, offered to arrange the alliance and took Rs 50,000, along with a pair of silver anklets, for facilitating the marriage. Suman later introduced the family to Rajnandini, a resident of Bettiah in Bihar. Kanta claimed that Suman and another woman, Neelam, accompanied them during the process, and the marriage was solemnised at a local court.After the wedding, Rajnandini came to Hisar with the family. However, on Dec 24, 2025, when Kanta and her son were out for work, Rajnandini allegedly fled the house with jewellery and cash.Kanta further alleged that a few days later, she spotted Rajnandini on the court premises, along with Suman and Neelam. When she confronted them, she claimed the two women threatened her with dire consequences.In her complaint, Kanta also alleged that Rajnandini previously married a man from Kharar village and, along with others, duped several families through similar marriages.
