Mangaluru: An accused, who was evading arrest for 15 years in fraud cases registered at Ullal police station, was apprehended on Friday.The Bengaluru-based accused defrauded approximately Rs 1.2 crore by promising high returns in currency trading and stock transactions. Three cases were registered against him at Ullal police station. The arrested man is Ajay Prasad G, 41, a resident of Upkar Layout, Vishwaneedam, Bengaluru.

Police said the accused, through an organisation called Nano Forex India, convinced people of monthly profits of 40% and a 20% refund using forex trading and stock transactions with Forex Robot Software. By gaining trust with ID cards and documents, and offering the use of the Prorex Robot Software, the accused collected about Rs 1.2 crore from various customers. However, he misused the money without providing any profit or refund. Ullal police registered three cases in 2011 regarding this.Prasad kept evading court appearances by hiding for about 15 years. On Friday, a team from Ullal police station arrested him in Bengaluru and presented him before a court in Mangaluru. The court ordered judicial custody for the accused.
