Kanpur: Police arrested the main accused in liquor salesman’s murder in an encounter in Bidhnu police station area late on Sunday night. He was injured in encounter and was admitted to hospital. The accused, Chhotu alias Chand alias Nisar, son of Razzak of Fatehpur district, was taken to Bidhnu CHC from where he was referred to Kanpur. He revealed the names of his two accomplices. A few days ago, a salesman Uday Singh had refused to serve liquor to some men at a shop near Bhawanipur village in Bidhnu police station area on which they assaulted him. Uday was admitted to Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital, where he succumbed. Ghatampur ACP Krishnakant Yadav said Bidhnu station in-charge Tej Bahadur Singh received a tip-off after which police began checking on Bidhnu-Sachendi road. DCP South Deependra Nath Chaudhary said has six cases against him. He will be produced in court and sent to jail. Raids are on to arrest the other two accused. tnn
