Kanpur: The district administration felicitated girls and women for best performance in different sectors during an event held to mark the International Women’s Day on Sunday.During the programme, incentive was provided to the girls who performed excellently in education in Kanpur Nagar district under the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao scheme. Girls selected under the Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala Yojana and Bal Seva Yojana, and women doing excellent work in various departments were honoured with certificates.MLA Kalyanpur Neelima Katiyar, member of the State Women Commission Poonam Dwivedi, chief development officer Diksha Jain, deputy director Puneet Kumar Mishra, district program officer Preeti, district probation officer Vikas Singh and director Achintya Foundation and social worker Disha Arora, along with other dignitaries, attended the event organised at the Government Children’s Home in Swarup Nagar. MLA Neelima Katiyar encouraged the girls to work diligently to achieve their dreams. The CDO encouraged the girls to participate in training programmes tailored to their interests and to utilise their energy and potential to build a bright future. Director Achintya Foundation Disha Arora took the initiative to provide market to the products manufactured by the girls of children’s Home (Girls).The main function was held under the chairmanship of CM Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow, which was broadcast at the govt shelter home too.
