Hazaribag: A woman died after being bitten by a snake while plucking okra on a field at Goria Karma village under Barhi block on Monday.Officer in-charge of the Barhi police station, Vinod Kumar, said, “Sudha Devi (24) was working in an agricultural field near her house when she suddenly felt a severe pain in the leg. She saw a snake nearby and understood that she had been bitten by it. She immediately alerted her husband Sanjay Yadav, who rushed her to a nearby hospital. But doctors declared her dead on arrival.”The body was sent to the Hazaribag sadar hospital for post-mortem examination and then handed over to the family, he added.In a separate incident, a 40-year-old man from Karma village was also bitten by a snake and is admitted at the Hazaribag sadar hospital, where his condition is stated to be stable.
