Times News NetworkKanpur: A meeting of the peace committee was held at Sadbhavana Chowki under the chairmanship of DCP (Central) Atul Kumar Srivastava with procession organisers and managers, religious leaders and respected persons to maintain peace, security and law and order in view of the upcoming Barawafat festival on Tuesday.ACP (Anwarganj) and inspector Beconganj, along with other police officers and eminent persons were present at the meeting.The officers at the meeting made an appeal to ensure that the Barawafat festival was conducted in a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere, to maintain law and order and traffic arrangements during the procession, to follow the designated route and time, and to maintain mutual brotherhood and social harmony.The DCP appealed to those present not to pay attention to rumours, not to circulate any misleading, objectionable or provocative material of any kind on social media, and to immediately inform the police about any problem or suspicious activity.Assurance was also given that adequate police force would be deployed and necessary security arrangements would be made for security and peace during the festival.
