Times News NetworkKanpur: Two teenagers, Krishna (16) and Shiva (17), who went to bathe in the Ganga on Monday at Dyodhi Ghat in the Maharajpur police station area of Kanpur, went missing. Even after more than 24 hours since the incident, no trace of them was found, and a large-scale rescue operation continued on Tuesday.At 6 am on Tuesday, PAC teams reached the spot and carried out a search operation in an area of about 50 kilometres up to Chandika Ghat in Unnao. At around 2 pm, an NDRF team reached the incident site and began the search.NDRF Company Commander Ajay Singh said that a 30-member team was conducting the rescue operation with divers. With the help of two steamers, a search was carried out in an area about 50 feet wide and 300 feet long around the incident site.He said that due to the strong current in the Ganga and constant fluctuations in the water level, divers were facing difficulty in the search. Despite this, the rescue operation would continue, he added.Inspector Maharajpur police station Janardan Singh said that the rescue operation was being carried out continuously to trace the missing teenagers.
