Mysuru: Functionaries from Congress and BJP came together to support the Sri Hanuman Chalisa Parayana Mahayagna, scheduled for Saturday at the Maharaja’s College Grounds.All preparations have been completed for the mega spiritual congregation, which is expected to draw between 75,000 and one lakh devotees. The event, organised for universal welfare, will be led by Ganapathi Sachchidananda Swami of the Avadootha Datta Peeta.Addressing a joint press conference after inspecting the preparations, BJP MLA TS Srivatsa and Congress MLA K Harishgowda described the two-day programme as historic. Srivatsa highlighted the religious leader’s global contributions, particularly in promoting music therapy and spreading Hanuman Chalisa for spiritual and physical well-being. Harishgowda noted that the programme also features Shiva-Parvati kalyana.While the Avadootha Datta Peeta announced the event on Tuesday, on Thursday a section of Congress functionaries visited the site. On Friday, BJP functionaries joined the Congress netas and held a joint press meet at the site. City BJP chief and former MLA L Nagendra, Congress functionary and former Muda chairman HV Rajeeva, and Narayana, former chairman of the Karnataka State Commission for Safaikarmachris, were also present.A specially designed stage was erected for dignitaries, seers and saints, along with a massive pandal to facilitate the mass chanting. Seating arrangements have ben meticulously planned for 40,000 to 50,000 participants. Organisers have ensured drinking water supply, arrangements for prasada distribution, Hanumad Sriraksha (spiritual protection), temporary toilets and emergency medical facilities. Parking arrangements have been made near the venue and adjoining roads.With thousands of devotees expected to come from across India and abroad, special bus services have been arranged in the city.
