Haveri: With power-sharing activities escalating within Congress, the countdown began for the state govt’s celebration of 1,000 days of chief minister Siddaramaiah. Deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar will be sharing the stage with the chief minister at ‘Bhu Guarantee Samarpana Samavesh’ (land guarantee presentation convention), in Haveri on Saturday.Preparations are almost complete for a large-scale public gathering, where the govt will distribute title deeds to one lakh beneficiaries across Karnataka. The district minister Shivanand Patil inspected the preparations on Friday.

A large tent was erected along the old PB Road, with an expected attendance of 2,00,000 people. The event will start at 11.30am. A main stage is constructed on 18 acres, parking facilities on 94 acres, 4 helipads on eight acres of land, and dining arrangements on 10 acres. A stage measuring 140×60 feet is prepared to accommodate 200 guests. A German tent covering 2,76,000 square feet for approximately 1,00,000 people.A total of 200 temporary toilets are arranged. The district administration made food arrangements for over 2,00,000 people. A total of 2,260 buses are arranged to bring beneficiaries from various districts, with two nodal officers appointed for each bus. For security, 3,500 personnel, including 300 police officers, police staff, and home guards, were deployed.“Land rights documents will also be distributed at the event to over 1,10,000 families across 9 districts, including Haveri, Davanagere, Dharwad, Gadag, Koppal, Chitradurga, Uttara Kannada, Shivamogga, and Chikkamagaluru. As many as 50,000 people from Haveri district are expected to attend the event,” mentioned Patil.“We made arrangements for the success of Bhu Guarantee Samarpana Samavesh. Transport, parking, food, water, and other facilities were provided for attendees,” said Vijay Mahantesh Danammanavar, DC, HaveriBuses service disruption Public transport is expected to be thrown out of gear on Satruday in the wake of an event to mark the completion of 1,000 days of the Siddaramaiah-led Congress govt in the region. The NWKRTC said in a press release that it is providing over 1,200 buses to the event, and there will be disruption in transport operations within its jurisdiction. “Passengers have been requested to cooperate with the corporation,” the release added.
