Dharwad: Deputy commissioner Snehal R has directed officials to prepare a comprehensive development blueprint for Alnavar taluk, prioritising basic infrastructure and environmental conservation.Chairing a public grievance redressal meeting, DC Snehal instructed officials to clear encroachments in the Hirekeri lake area and take up desilting and cleaning works to improve water storage capacity.
The meeting focused on addressing public grievances and reviewing ongoing development works. The DC stressed that lake development should be taken up in a scientific and sustainable manner so that it benefits the public while ensuring environmental protection.She also directed departments concerned to prepare a structured action plan for lake rejuvenation and ensure time-bound implementation. Snehal said steps will be taken to fill vacancies of doctors and medical staff in govt hospitals at the earliest to prevent disruption in medical services, particularly in rural areas. The DC noted that several development works in the taluk are currently in progress and instructed officials to accelerate their execution. Priority will be given to road works, building infrastructure, drinking water supply and other essential civic facilities. Officials were directed to classify and forward public complaints to the relevant departments with clear instructions and ensure follow-up action within the prescribed timeframe.
