Mangaluru: Around 2,500 representatives from India and abroad are expected to gather at Sanghanikethan in Mangaluru Sunday for ‘Kotadavara Habba’, the central convention of Koota Mahajagattu Saligrama.The day-long convention, being organised by the Mangaluru chapter for the first time, will feature programmes from morning until night, including a religious discourse and the release of a souvenir documenting the community’s heritage, philosophy and organisational activities.Raghavendra S Bhat, managing director and CEO of Karnataka Bank, will inaugurate the convention. Among those expected to attend are Ravi Kota, chairman and managing director of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited; S Raghunath, president of Akhila Karnataka Brahmana Mahasabha; astrologer KV Nagendra Bharadwaj; CA Chandrashekhara Aithal, Sadashiva Aithal and Suresh Tunga.Dr Aarathi VB of Vibhu Academy will deliver a religious discourse. Raghunath Somayaji, honorary president of the central convention committee; Gopalakrishna Herle, president of Sri Gurunarasimha Billions Foundation Trust; and Prakash Karanth, president of Sri Gurunarasimha Temple Administrative Board, will also participate.The convention souvenir, Narasimha Prabha, will be released during the event.Mangaluru chapter president Sridhara Holla said the gathering aims to bring community members together, help them reconnect with their ancestral roots and provide direction for the community’s future. The convention also seeks to strengthen the community’s cultural, religious and social heritage.Final preparations at Sanghanikethan, including arrangements for the auditorium, stage and stalls, were inspected by office-bearers ahead of the event.
