Mangaluru: RSS functionary Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat has reportedly sought one month’s time to appear before Bantwal Rural police and record his statement in connection with the murder of Abdul Rahiman.Police had served Bhat with a notice directing him to be present at his residence on Saturday to record his statement. The notice stated that his statement was required to verify certain facts that had emerged during the investigation into the murder case.Bhat informed police that he would be unavailable on the specified date due to commitments and sought at least one month’s time to appear for questioning.Abdul Rahiman was murdered on May 27, 2025.Meanwhile, Mangaluru City North MLA Bharath Y Shetty alleged that the Congress govt in the state had gone bankrupt and was targeting prominent RSS leaders to divert public attention from other issues.Condemning the police notice issued to Bhat, Shetty alleged that home minister Priyank Kharge was attempting to target the RSS out of animosity and divert attention from the prevailing situation. He said the notice appeared to be an attempt to tarnish the organisation’s image.
