Ministers P C Vishnunadh, C P John and MP Kodikunnil Suresh pay respects to the deceased on Tuesday

T’puram: The mortal remains of Kottarakkara natives A C Thomas (57) and his wife Loveni (56), who were killed in the boat accident of the coast of Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam, were brought to the state on Tuesday.The bodies arrived at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport at 8.50am by Air India flight AI 2605 from Mumbai. Earlier, they had been flown from Vietnam to Mumbai on a Vietnam Airlines flight on Monday night.Ministers P C Vishnunadh and C P John, and MP Kodikunnil Suresh were among those who paid their last respects to the deceased at the airport.The bodies were then taken in a funeral procession to Kottarakkara. The bodies are currently being kept in a mortuary and will be placed for public homage at the chapel of the Kottarakkara Mar Thoma Jubilee hall from 10am to 3pm on Wednesday. The funeral service will begin at 4pm, followed by burial at the Kottarakkara Mar Thoma Valiya Pally cemetery on Wednesday evening.Thomas and Loveni were among the 15 killed when a boat carrying tourists capsized near Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam.
