T’puram: Chief minister V D Satheesan on Tuesday will present the Little Kites IT club awards to the winners of state and district level competitions organised by KITES.At the state level, AMMAHSS, Edayaranmula (Pathanamthitta) secured first place and will receive a cash prize of Rs 2.5 lakh. GHS, Kurumbala (Wayanad), which secured second place, will receive Rs 2 lakh; and GGHSS, Cotton Hill (Thiruvananthapuram), which secured third place, will receive Rs 1.5 lakh.At the district level, schools in the first, second, and third places would receive cash awards of Rs 40,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000, respectively. In addition to the prize money, schools will be presented with a specially designed trophy and a certificate of appreciation, a statement from KITES said here on Monday.Little Kites units are currently active in 2,284 high schools across the state. More than 1.80 lakh students in classes VIII, IX and X are currently participating.This year’s awards have been decided by assessing outstanding work in areas such as AI literacy, robotics training, digital inclusion, and schools’ social engagement initiatives.The event will also honour State Bank of India and Cochin Shipyard Limited, which sponsored Rs 40 lakh and Rs 25 lakh respectively, from CSR funds for deploying advanced robotics kits to ensure cutting-edge technical training in schools. The function will be livestreamed online via the KITE Victers channel.
