Kanpur: In a joint action against Chinese manjha in Collectorganj police station area, the SWAT and local police arrested two smugglers- Nakul Khanna and Karan Gupta- with illegal manjha. The police seized three large cartons of Chinese manjha found in their possession.DCP (Crime) Shravan Kumar said that the miscreants had ordered shipments of the manjha from Bareilly via the social media platform. They were now planning to sell it in the city. ADCP Operations Sumit Ramteke and his team foiled their plans, said the DCP.The DCP has cautioned the public and vendors that possessing, selling, or utilising Chinese manjha is illegal. The police have made it clear that their team is consistently monitoring such illegal activities, and any information received will prompt the most stringent legal actions against the offenders.Chinese manjha is prohibited as its sharpness, akin to that of a knife, poses severe risk to bike riders and pedestrians. It can cause deep cuts on the body causing severe injuries and even death. Many incidents of passers-by and birds falling victim to this manjha are reported.
