Dumka: In a major breakthrough, Pakur police arrested two key accused in the brutal murder of land dealer Devraj Sarkar (40) during Holi celebrations on March 4 in the Pakur town police station area. The arrested persons have been identified as Khudu Mandal and Krishna Mishra, both residents within the Malpahadi police outpost limits. Police also seized three motorcycles and one car allegedly used in the crime.Revealing the details during a press conference on Sunday, sub divisional police officer (SDPO) Dayanand Azad said, “On March 4, Devraj Sarkar (40), a resident of Talwadanga under Pakur town police station, was stabbed to death by a group of knife-wielding miscreants. Following a written complaint by the victim’s father, Meghnath Sarkar, a case was registered at the town police station.”
A special probe team, led by officer-in-charge of town police station Anil Kumar Gupta, was formed to crack the case swiftly, as investigations pinpointed a land dispute as the primary trigger. “Acting on technical evidence and secret tips, we intensified raids and zeroed in on the suspects,” Azad added.“Raids are being conducted to hunt down the other accused persons involved,” the SDPO said.
