Bengaluru: A 25-year-old security guard was assaulted and threatened by a cab driver, who acted as a tout, on the premises of Kempegowda Internatioal Airport (KIA) early Monday.The injured guard is Debasish Biswas, while the accused is Gangadhar. The incident happened at 4.30am in the Quad area of Terminal 2. Biswas, who worked as a landside security guard for the last one year, noticed that Gangadhar was trying to forcibly pick up passengers. As he was troubling people and causing inconvenience to other vehicles, Biswas asked him to leave the premises. This led to an argument between Biswas and Gangadhar. In a fit of rage, Gangadhar assaulted Biswas and abused him. Later, Gangadhar followed Biswas to his house and gave him death threats. A case was registered under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Sections 115 (voluntarily causing hurt), 126 (wrongful restraint) and 351 (criminal intimidation).
