Prayagraj: A joint team of Narcotics Task Force and Dhoomanganj police on Tuesday arrested three drug peddlers and seized six packets of smack (weighing around 727 grams) worth Rs 1.45 crore, four mobiles, Rs 4,940 cash and a country-made pistol of 0.315 bore along with one live cartridge from their possession. Deepak Kumar Gautam, Ashish Kumar Maurya and Vivek Kumar, residents of Dhoomanganj and Nawabganj were arrested near Nehru Park area while they were planning to sell the drugs.Meanwhile, Handia police on Tuesday arrested two auto-lifters, Shailendra Patel (27), and Teerath Saroj (21), residents of Utrav and Mansoorabad respectively, and recovered five stolen bikes and master keys from their possession. The cops have also taken three juveniles members of the gang, into their custody. The gang used to sell stolen bikes for Rs 6,000 to Rs 10,000 to seekers. They used to recce during daytime before executing crime in the market areas and hide the stolen bikes at each other’s house.
