Gurgaon: A dispute over the price of liquor allegedly turned violent after three men attacked a salesman with a liquor bottle, robbed Rs 40,000 in cash and fled with liquor bottles from a wine shop in Sohna on the night of July 16.The incident took place around 10.55 pm at Sehgal Wines in Damdama. Police registered an FIR on Friday after the injured salesman was declared fit to give his statement.According to police, the three accused had come to the shop to buy liquor when an argument broke out over its price.“They came to buy liquor but got into an argument with the shop staff over the price. The dispute quickly escalated, and they attacked the salesman before fleeing with cash and liquor,” an investigating officer said.In his complaint, Vikas, a native of Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh who works at the shop, alleged that one of the accused stood at the entrance while the other two entered the shop. One of them picked up a liquor bottle from the shop and repeatedly hit him on the head.Police said after Vikas collapsed, the accused took Rs 40,000 from the cash box, fled with several liquor bottles and smashed four others before escaping.The injured salesman was first taken to the govt hospital in Sohna and later shifted to a private hospital after being referred to Civil Hospital, Sector 10.Police reached the hospital on the night of the incident, but doctors declared Vikas unfit to give a statement. His complaint was recorded the following day.An FIR has been registered under Sections 309(4), 309(6), 324(4) and 3(5) of the BNS. The investigation has been transferred to the Gurgaon crime branch, which is examining CCTV footage to identify and arrest the accused.
