Gurgaon: A 23-year-old man was arrested for allegedly shooting his friend dead using his father’s licensed firearm in Behrampur village. Lucky Bhati was nabbed on July 17, two days after the incident.Police, while trying to establish the motive, said the two were travelling together in a car when Lucky, a resident of the village, opened fire on Akash, 27, a resident of Badarpur in Delhi.“Lucky was arrested by the Sector 31 crime branch from Faridabad. He was produced before a court, which remanded him to two days of police custody,” a police officer said.Akash worked as a fuel delivery executive and was staying with his brother-in-law in the city. In his complaint, Akash’s brother-in-law said the former told him on the day of the incident that he was going to meet his friend Lucky. The complainant alleged that Lucky later shot him dead. Based on the complaint, police registered an FIR under the relevant provisions of BNS.During preliminary interrogation, police found that the accused and the victim knew each other for several years. “Lucky often visited relatives in the locality where Akash stayed, and the two became close friends over time,” the officer added. Sector 65 personnel received information on July 15 that Akash died after sustaining a gunshot injury. A police team reached the hospital, inspected the body and initiated an investigation.
