Times News NetworkKanpur: Food security and drug administration department on Saturday raided and checked as many as 7 food preparation establishments. The team shut down three establishments, issued a notice to a hotel, and collected 10 food samples from various establishments for testing.During an inspection of the bakery, located opposite Dalel Purwa police outpost, cakes were found being manufactured amidst unsanitary conditions and workers were observed operating without head caps, gloves, or aprons. Samples of cake and vegetable ghee were collected based on suspicion and sent for testing.In this sequence, an inspection was conducted at the sweet house, located at the Deputy Padav crossing in Lakshmipurwa. During the inspection, samosas and kachoris were being prepared beside an open drain, and filth was being dumped directly into it. Stagnant wastewater had accumulated at the establishment’s entrance and exit, attracting a large number of flies. Food handlers were not observing personal hygiene practices.During an inspection of the hotel in Chamanganj, the employees were found preparing food without head caps, gloves, or aprons. Similarly, during the inspection of a sweet house located at Haleem College crossing in Chamanganj, the cleanliness arrangements were found to be satisfactory. A total of four samples were collected and sent for quality testing.Assistant commissioner (Food)-II Sanjay Pratap Singh stated that all food business operators must strictly adhere to prescribed hygiene practices and food safety standards at food production sites. Establishments found violating these standards will face strict action under the Food Safety and Standards Act.
