Chennai: Sundaram Home Finance plans to double its assets under management (AUM) in Tamil Nadu’s Emerging Business (EB) segment to around Rs 1,300 crore by the end of this fiscal, from over Rs 650 crore in FY26.The company plans to add more than 10 EB branches in Tier-3 and Tier-4 towns across the state to accelerate growth in affordable housing finance and small-ticket working capital loans.Sundaram Home Finance, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sundaram Finance, entered the EB segment in October 2022 with a branch in Madurai.Over the last four years, the company has established a strong base in TN within the EB segment, expanding its presence into remote locations across the state. It now has around 70 EB branches in Tamil Nadu, with recent additions in Ramanathapuram and Oddanchatram, as well as new branches in the temple towns of Tiruchendur and Tirukovilur.“We believe the small towns in TN offer good growth opportunities in the affordable housing segment and expect this market to pick up pace in the medium to long term. We plan to further strengthen our presence in TN by expanding our branch network into more Tier 3 and 4 towns and to grow this business faster in the coming years,” said D Lakshminarayanan, MD, Sundaram Home Finance.The company has over 500 employees in the EB segment in Tamil Nadu and plans to hire an additional 50 people as part of its expansion.It has also expanded its EB operations to Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana. The company crossed 100 EB branches nationally last year, with disbursements exceeding Rs 500 crore.
