Vladimir Putin’s Kremlin has offered a rare positive assessment of Donald Trump’s Ukraine diplomacy after U.S. envoys shuttled between Moscow and Kyiv. Dmitry Peskov called the meetings “one small step towards peace,” praised Trump’s efforts and opened the door to renewed trilateral talks. Steve Witkoff, meanwhile, said Washington made “a lot of progress” with Putin and heard “new ideas,” while Jared Kushner revealed discussions over what Russia and Ukraine could each gain from a settlement.
