Vadodara: Residents of Bhavani Nagar on Bamroli Road in Godhra were pleasantly surprised when officials of the city gas distribution (CGD) company visited the society on Thursday morning. The residents had applied for piped gas connections, but had not taken them as neither the company nor the Godhra municipality were willing to restore the road after gas lines were laid.TOI reported on Thursday that residents of the society were keen on getting connections, but neither the gas company nor the municipality was saying who would restore the road after it was dug up for the gas pipeline. All 17 houses had applied for connections, but did not take them.On Thursday morning, officials approached the society residents and asked them to make fresh applications, as they had taken refunds after applying for connections two years ago. The officials assured the residents that they would restore the small pits they make at intervals to push the gas line underground. Long trenches will not be dug as the pipeline will be pushed underground.
