Mysuru: ‘Safe Mysuru’, a run of 5km and 10km, has been organised by the Mysuru City and Mysuru district police on March 1. Interested members of the public may enrol for the run by registering their names. The event focuses on creating awareness about the ill effects of narcotic substances and the prevention of cyber offences through community participation and outreach.“This is the third year of the Safe Mysuru initiative. The second edition recorded around 9k participants, making it the largest participation for a run of its kind in Karnataka,” said Southern Range IGP MB Boralingaiah.For this year’s edition, police are expecting more than 5k runners, across all age groups and encouraging families, students, working professionals, and senior citizens to take part.Participants will run on different routes designed for the 5km and 10 km categories. The run will start from Kote Anjaneya Swamy Temple at 6am and culminate at the same point, ensuring a convenient and familiar location for participants and spectators.The Safe Mysuru Run aims to strengthen public-police partnership, promote a healthy lifestyle, and deliver clear messages on drug abuse prevention and cyber safety.Commissioner of police Seema Latkar, SP Mallikarjun Baladandi, and DCP KS Sundar Raj were present.
