Kanpur: Tension prevailed at a nursing home in Kalyanpur after a woman died after her delivery on Sunday. However, condition of the baby is stated to be stable. Angry over the woman’s death, family members kept the body and staged protest for over three hours. The victim’s husband said that he brought his wife to a private hospital located on Kalyanpur Panki Road on Saturday morning for delivery. It is alleged that the hospital doctors, stating the condition of the mother and child as critical, immediately performed an operation. After some time, the doctors informed them about the birth of a son but said the wife’s condition was deteriorating and referred her to Hallett, where the doctors declared her dead. Kalyanpur police station in-charge Santosh Kumar Singh said necessary action will be taken upon receiving a complaint. tnn
