Hassan: Former minister and JD(S) MLA HD Revanna on Wednesday launched another attack on Hassan deputy commissioner KS Latha Kumari, alleging that she is not respecting elected representatives.Speaking to reporters, Revanna questioned the process followed in finalising reservations for gram panchayat seats. He said he had brought the issue to deputy commissioner’s notice and asked why the DC, despite having full authority, sought reservation lists from all tahsildars.“I have been working as an MLA for nearly 30 years. I have tried to contact the deputy commissioner several times, but my calls were not answered. I also called from my PA’s number,” he said. His reaction comes after the IAS officer took on Revanna and said he has insulted officials by attacking her.Revanna said officials should know how to deal with public representatives and urged district minister KN Shivalingegowda to advise DC to take the elected representatives into confidence. He also alleged that DC had made inappropriate remarks about an elected representative and said he would bring the matter to the notice of assembly speaker and chief secretary.Meanwhile, Shivalingegowda defended the IAS officer saying the DC has prepared the gram panchayat reservation list according to law. Speaking to reporters, he said if the DC has committed any mistake, complaints should be made with documents and an inquiry can be conducted. “But speaking disrespectfully to officials and addressing them in an insulting manner is unacceptable. As the district minister, it is my responsibility to give her confidence. I stand by her. Making personal allegations against her is not right,” he said.
