Bhubaneswar: Former Padampur MLA Satya Bhusan Sahu died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday. He was 74. A three-time legislator from Padampur, Sahu was elected to the Odisha assembly on a Congress ticket in 1980, 1985 and 2004. During his political career, he also served as the chief whip of the Congress Legislature Party in the state assembly.Leaders across the political spectrum condoled his demise. Chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi, speaker Surama Padhy, PCC president Bhakta Charan Das and BJD president Naveen Patnaik expressed grief and paid tribute to Sahu’s contribution to public life and the development of western Odisha.
