An administrative team on Wednesday provided the four-year-old girl and eight-year-old boy with ration supplies and blankets as immediate assistance

Ranchi: Deputy commissioner (DC) Manjunath Bhajantri directed officials to ensure the well-being of the two children of Lekya village under Kundla panchayat in Tamar block who had lost their parents, Yogendra Munda and Savitri Devi, in Sept.The mother had died on Sept 14 and the father on Sept 18, both due to alcoholism.Acting on the direction, an administrative team on Wednesday provided the four-year-old girl and eight-year-old boy with ration supplies and blankets as immediate assistance to meet their urgent needs. Both children have been enrolled as residential students in Gurukul Vidyalaya, where they will receive free education and school uniforms, to prevent any disruption in their education.“The district administration strives to ensure that children, who have lost their parents, face neither loneliness nor deprivation, and receive timely support for their education, nutrition, and overall security,” DC Bhajantri said.The process to register the siblings under ‘Sponsorship Scheme’ has been initiated to ensure continued financial and social protection. Monitoring would continue, as required, officials said.
