Deoghar: A 22-year-old BSc student from Bihar’s Jamui district was found hanging in his rented room in Deoghar’s Barmasia area on Tuesday night, two days before his fourth-semester examination, police said on Wednesday.The deceased was identified as Abhay Kumar, a resident of Chakai in Jamui. He was pursuing his studies in Deoghar and lived with his classmates in the rented accommodation.Police said Abhay’s roommates had gone out in the evening. When they returned around 9 pm and got no response despite repeated knocks, they looked through a window and saw him hanging inside. They broke open the door and rushed him to Deoghar Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.Police said no suicide note has been found so far. “Prima facie, it appears to be a case of suicide. The circumstances leading to the death are being investigated,” an officer said.Abhay’s father said his son was focused on studies and had never mentioned any personal or mental health issues to the family.Police have sent the body for post-mortem examination and started an investigation.
