Rajkot: Rajkot division of Western Railway reported a record annual revenue of Rs 2,711 crore for the 2025-26 financial year, a growth rate of 10.43% from last year’s Rs 2,455.94 crore.Divisional railway manager (DRM) Giriraj Kumar Meena credited the milestone to strong performance across all operational sectors. Freight earnings led the growth at Rs 2,238.34 crore, followed by passenger revenue of Rs 437.43 crore and Rs 35.09 crore from other sources.“Freight revenue reached Rs 2,238.34 crore, up 10.41% over last year. The division handled 11.95 million tonnes of cargo, a 10.60% increase, with daily loading averaging 574 wagons, up 10%,” Meena said, noting this is the division’s best freight performance in 11 years.Passenger services showed strong growth. The division recorded a 9.77% rise in passenger revenue, with around 1.30 crore passengers, a 15.94% increase. Train operations maintained high reliability, achieving 95.23% punctuality.
