Rajkot: Two road accidents claimed the lives of a father and daughter in Sihor taluka of Bhavnagar and a young boy in Visavadar, Junagadh, within the span of 24 hours.On Monday, 32-year-old Sanjay Parmar and his 9-year-old daughter Harshita, residents of Kajavadar village, were killed when their motorcycle was hit by a dumper. According to the complaint filed by Sanjay’s father, 58-year-old Bogha Parmar, at Sihor police station, Sanjay was returning to Kajavadar with Harshita on their motorcycle after taking her for a check-up at Jambala Hospital. Around 7.30pm, near the road between Jambala and Kajavadar, a dump truck struck them. The father and daughter were initially rushed to a nearby private hospital and then transferred to Sir T Hospital in Bhavnagar, where they were declared dead. Sihor police registered a case against the dumper driver under Sections 106(1), 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicles Act. In Visavadar, Junagadh district, an 8-year-old boy, Dhaval Gohil, died after being hit by a pickup truck on Sunday, March 29, also around 7.30pm. Dhaval was playing cricket with children from the neighbourhood. He went onto the road to retrieve the ball and was hit by the pickup truck, resulting in his death on the spot. Dhaval was the younger of two brothers. An unknown driver has been booked by Visavadar police station for the incident.
