Kanpur: A raid in Kannauj, uncovered alleged LPG cylinder black marketing, with authorities seizing 12 cylinders and 113 gas booking books from Bagiya Mohalla. The raid at Jagdish Gupta’s house was led by Chhibramau SDM Gyanendra Dwivedi, who found cylinders being sold at inflated prices. The SDM said he received information that 150 to 200 cylinders were stored in the house, but most of the stock was removed before the team arrived. During the raid, authorities seized 11 empty and one filled cylinder, plus another filled one tied to a bike. The team also recovered 113 gas booking books from a room. Dwivedi said this looks like a clear case of black marketing, involving the gas agency operator and staff. He said strict action will be taken against the accused, adding that police were trying to trace other people involved in this network.
