Mysuru: More than 500 applications were received on the very first day of the state govt’s Praja Seve campaign, with the majority of petitions related to land issues, along with complaints and requests concerning roads and power supply.The highest number of applications came from Hunsur. An officer said since the service was launched in Hunsur and district minister Yathindra Siddarmaiah participated, more complaints were submitted in the taluk.The Praja Seve department was inaugurated to ensure govt officials respond promptly to citizens, address their grievances, and deliver govt schemes within a stipulated timeframe. Under the campaign’s operating approach, petitions received in one meeting are expected to be resolved by the next meeting. If any application remains pending, officials are required to provide clear and valid reasons for the delay, reinforcing accountability and time-bound service delivery.During the first meeting, members of the public submitted petitions to minister Yathindra. Key issues included road development and repairs, electricity-related complaints, house construction matters under regularisation, issuance of caste certificates, and other local administrative problems. Officials noted that land-related applications formed a major share, indicating continued demand for clarity, regularisation, and resolution of disputes connected to land records and ownership and disputes with neighbouring landowners.Taluk-wise, the applications received were: Hunsur – 267; Saragur – 56; Nanjangud – 43; T Narasipura – 42; Mysuru – 41; HD Kote – 23; KR Nagar – 21; Periyapatna – 19; and Saligrama – 8
