MYSURU: Scores of students participated in a 5K Marathon organized with the objective of creating awareness among the younger generation about heart health, neurological well-being, physical fitness and the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle, on Saturday.Dr. Shushrutha Gowda, neurologist and founder of Neurozone, highlighted the growing concerns surrounding stress, neurological problems and heart-related conditions among young people, particularly in the post-COVID era.“Prevention is always better than cure. Young people must maintain a healthy balance between work, studies and personal life. A nutritious diet, regular exercise and effective stress management can go a long way in preventing lifestyle-related diseases,” he expressed.Hunsur MLA G. D. Harish Gowda urged the youth to actively participate in health and fitness activities and cautioned them against excessive dependence on gadgets and increasingly sedentary lifestyles.He called upon young people to embrace activities such as running, swimming, cycling, yoga and meditation, which can contribute significantly to both physical and mental well-being.
