Mysuru: Mysuru City Corporation on Saturday issued a final notice to owners of unused, abandoned vehicles for unauthorized parking on public roads, footpaths, obstructing the public movement, affecting the beautification aspects of the city.MCC commissioner MK Savitha said that MCC has launched a drive to clear the abandoned vehicles in public places from Aug 25 to 31 and had affixed notices on abandoned vehicles on roads and public places for a long period of time. Despite such affixing notices, MCC has received complaints against the owners for not shifting vehicles.Now MCC has given another chance to such owners to vacate their vehicles parked on footpath, public roads and other places to voluntarily to shift their vehicles by Sept 12.MCC found that such places have become dumping spots for owners of such vehicles; it also became a hub of illegal activities and breeding ground for vector borne diseases.Owners have been directed to remove them within seven days of receiving affixed notices or by Sept 12 failing in which MCC will take tough action against owners of such vehicles. If the vehicles are not removed within set deadline, MCC will consider these abandoned and unused vehicles towed away in accordance with section 127 of Karnataka Municipal Corporation Act 1976, bylaws and resolutions of MCC council.The cost of removing, towing away, transporting will be recovered from owners of such vehicles. Such vehicles will also be auctioned and scrapped.MCC will treat this as final notice and will not extend its date further to clear such vehicles on footpath.
