Dharwad: District and Block-level education authorities have warned of strict action against teachers and school administrations if the SSLC results do not improve. Officials stressed that the responsibility for improving academic quality and SSLC performance lies with the teachers, school managements, and the education department across govt, aided, and unaided high schools.Chairing a review meeting on SSLC preparatory examinations held on Thursday at the ZP hall, ZP CEO Bhuvanesh Patil reviewed the performance of govt, aided, and unaided high schools across seven taluks of the district. He cautioned that disciplinary action would be taken against teachers if results continue to remain poor.Data showed that in the previous SSLC examination, 37 high schools recorded pass percentages below 50%. These included schools in Dharwad Rural (02), Dharwad City (08), Hubballi Rural (04), Hubballi City (16), Kalaghatagi (01), Kundgol (03), and Navalgund (03). Analysis indicated that poor results were more common in aided and unaided schools.All cluster and BEOs have been directed to closely monitor guest teachers to ensure quality of education. They have also been instructed to provide details of teachers who are not making sincere efforts to improve the results. Authorities have clarified that such guest teachers should not continue in the next academic year. Authorities have set a target of over 85% results in the third preparatory and improving the district-wide results.
