Belagavi: To boost the SSLC academic performance, Nippani taluk administration directed that the households of 10th-grade students must switch off their mobile phones and TV daily from 6 to 9 pm. The tahsildar also formed an eight-member study monitoring committee to ensure strict implementation of the order.This year’s SSLC exam will begin in the 3rd week of March and will continue until the 1st week of April. The preparatory exams are already being conducted for students. Education department took several measures ensure the academic quality of students improves, and they achieve a lead in the exam results. In addition, Nippani tahsildar Suresh Munje issued the order and mandated that it be followed strictly in households with 10th-grade students in urban, town, and rural areas.It was decided to conduct a campaign in urban, town, and rural areas to implement this order. The tahsildar formed an 8-member monitoring committee to strictly implement the mobile and TV switch-off order. The headmaster of the respective school will be the chairman of the committee. The 10th-class teachers will be the co-chairmen. Local bodies’ senior officials, chief officers, PDOs, child development supervisors, community resource persons, village administration officers, health department staff, and beat police are on the committee.The eight-member committee formed in this regard will meet every week to discuss the success of the campaign. They will visit students’ homes and appeal parents to switch off mobile phones and TVs at specified times. The committee will also appeal to neighbours to cooperate and not disrupt their studies.The use of TV and mobile phone has already been banned in many villages for two days a week. The steps taken by the taluk administration to smooth the way for students’ exams are receiving full support in Nippani taluk. Messages are circulating on social media expressing appreciation.
