Kanpur: A meeting to review the wheat procurement system was held under the chairmanship of district magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh at the Naveen Sabhagar here. The meeting was attended by ADM (Civil Supplies), Deputy RMO, AR Cooperative, along with district managers of various procurement agencies and in-charges of all wheat procurement centres.The district magistrate gave clear instructions that the convenience of farmers should be the top priority at wheat procurement centres. Shaded areas for farmers to sit, clean drinking water and essential basic facilities must be made available at all centres without exception, so that farmers face no difficulty in selling their produce.He said that procurement is being carried out at the rate of the fixed minimum support price of Rs 2,585 per quintal at 63 wheat procurement centres operating in the district. tnn
