Juvenile boys and girls staying at Government Shelter Homes in Kanpur will now be sent to schools after the Juvenile Justice Committee of the high court observed in its order that residents of boys and girls shelter homes could not be deprived of the right to education.Under the RTE, they should be admitted to schools allotted for children of economically weaker sections. District probation officer Vikas Singh stated that the admission process had already begun and the majority of boys and girls had been tested. They would be sent to the school under proper security, he added. .Government Girls Shelter Home Swarup Nagar has around 150 girls. Similarly, 69 girls are staying at Government Girls Shelter Home. Government Boys Shelter Home Kalyanpur has 48 boys. tnn
