Vadodara: As civic elections draw near, residents of a Nizampura housing society have turned their long-standing water woes into an electoral protest, giving a call to press NOTA and putting up a stark ‘No water, no vote’ banner.Residents of Asmita Park Society in the Nizampura area raised the banner on Thursday night, flagging years of inadequate water supply. They said the society has been grappling with low water pressure for nearly a decade despite repeated complaints to authorities.According to residents, they have approached local corporators, the mayor and other officials several times and were assured that the issue would be resolved. Officials of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation also visited the society on multiple occasions following their representations, but no concrete work was initiated, they alleged.The society comprises around 60 houses. Residents said that while there is sufficient water supply in the surrounding areas, their society continues to be deprived, prompting them to escalate their protest ahead of the polls.
