Gorakhpur: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the multi-level parking project in the busy Ghantaghar area on Sunday.Built on the CM’s directions, it will be the second multi-level parking facility in the city. The facility has been developed as a parking-cum-commercial complex, providing space to 43 shopkeepers. The municipal corporation constructed the project at Shaheed Bandhu Singh Park over around 1,540 sq metres at Rs 27.26 crore. The basement can accommodate 26 cars, while another level has space for 24 four-wheelers. The terrace can hold around 200 two-wheelers. The complex also includes 21 shops on the ground floor and 22 on the first floor, along with separate toilets and a Sheetla Mata temple within the premises. Staircases on both sides and two lifts have been provided.Officials said the project is expected to ease congestion in Ghantaghar and adjoining markets like Maya Bazaar and Hindi Bazaar, which see heavy footfall from nearby districts as well as Bihar and Nepal.During the visit, the CM will also inaugurate Ghantaghar’s beautification works and lay the foundation stone for a commercial complex at Pandeyhata under the heritage corridor, estimated to cost Rs 36.47 crore, with 65 shops planned.
