Chennai: AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami on Friday alleged that Tamil Nadu was being run by the family of chief minister M K Stalin, with three other members of his family acting as de facto chief ministers. “The state has four chief ministers — Stalin, his son Udhayanidhi Stalin, Stalin’s wife Durga and son-in-law Sabarisan,” EPS said at Jolarpet, campaigning for former AIADMK minister K C Veeramani and AMMK candidate Gnanasekaran in Tirupattur. Referring to Stalin’s son-in-law Sabarisan’s role in election-related activities, including his participation in the introduction of Villivakkam DMK candidate Karthik Mohan, EPS said members of the family were exercising powers in all spheres. “People should vote for AIADMK-led alliance to put an end to dynastic politics in the state,” he said. Dwelling on the issue of drug peddling, EPS asked whether a govt that allegedly allowed the spread of narcotics deserved another term. “This is enough, let us put an end to it,” he said.Campaigning later in the Muslim-dominated Ambur constituency, EPS accused the DMK of falsely branding the AIADMK as anti-minority. He said the party’s alliance with the BJP was only an electoral arrangement and reiterated that the AIADMK would not compromise on its ideology or minority welfare. He also alleged that DMK had “deceived minorities” to come to power and urged them to back the AIADMK-led front to return to power.
