Kolkata: Calcutta HC on Friday allowed CPM‘s Sonamoni Tudu to file her nomination from Manbazar, reports Srishti Lakhotia. Tudu — a member of the Santhal community who has a tribal certificate from her native Jharkhand doesn’t have one in Bengal, where she moved after marriage. Hearing the matter urgently ahead of the last date of nomination on April 6, the HC said Tudu’s nomination would be subject to the returning officer’s verification.
