Dimapur: Adviser to the state industries and commerce department, Hekani Jakhalu, on Wednesday said 750 MSMEs have been identified for a six-month mentoring programme to help them scale up and become leading representatives of Nagaland’s entrepreneurial sector, particularly under the ‘Naturally Nagaland’ initiative.Speaking at an entrepreneur award ceremony at the conference hall of the industries and commerce department in Kohima, Jakhalu said state recognition was meant not only to honour achievements, but also to encourage entrepreneurs to expand their businesses at the state, national and global levels.Citing efforts under the Ramp (Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance) programme, Jakhalu said extensive outreach activities, including village-level workshops, have been carried out to promote entrepreneurship across the state. She urged entrepreneurs to avoid the “founder’s trap” of becoming overly dependent on managing every aspect of operations, which can make it difficult to step away for training or learning opportunities.Nine entrepreneurs, belonging from Nagaland, were honoured at the award show for outstanding contributions in various sectors.
