Hyderabad: BRS ex-MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy and his brother Ritesh Reddy returned to Chanchalguda prison after two days of police remand on Monday.In a related development, two of the absconding accused, who allegedly supplied narcotic substances to the arrested accused, have filed petitions seeking anticipatory bail, and SIT sleuths have opposed them.SIT sleuths said that they have questioned the former MLA and his brother regarding the drug supply chain and certain financial transactions linked to them. “We tried to ascertain if similar parties were held at the farmhouse and identify the role of other persons involved. The answers from the accused were vague and evasive. As per the investigation, cocaine and amphetamine used at the party were supplied by three different peddlers. All of them are absconding, and we are trying to nab them and record their statements,” a senior police officer said.Meanwhile, two of the absconding accused, Abhishek Singh and Rakesh Varma, who have allegedly supplied cocaine used at the farmhouse, have moved petitions before a local court in LB Nagar seeking anticipatory bail. “We have opposed the bail, saying they were involved in the supply of narcotic substances and they have to be interrogated in detail,” an SIT officer said. After arguments, both the petitions were reserved for orders to April 16.According to SIT officials, so far 15 people have been identified as accused in the case, and three of them, including Singh, Varma and a Goa-based peddler, Clinton, were absconding. “All three have been suspected to have supplied narcotic substances to the co-accused caught at the farmhouse on March 13 night,” an officer said.On March 13, a team of Eagle sleuths, along with Moinabad and SOT police, raided Rohit Reddy’s farmhouse at Moinabad and caught 11 persons on suspicion of partying with drugs and also for opening fire at police personnel. Rohit Reddy and TDP MP P Mahesh Kumar were among the accused. Six of the 11 accused, including Rohit and Mahesh, tested positive for narcotics consumption. Police seized 0.26 gram of cocaine, a revolver and a live round from the other accused.Three of the 11 accused, Rohit Reddy, Ritesh and Namit Sharma, were remanded in judicial custody. The remaining accused have been issued notices, and most of their statements have been recorded. Police said MP Mahesh Kumar is yet to appear for questioning due to his official work in Delhi. Rohit also moved a bail petition in the high court and its currently being heard.
