Udupi: The special executive magistrate and superintendent of police, Udupi, has externed a habitual offender involved in matka gambling from the district, in the interest of maintaining public peace and order.The externment order against Ramraj alias Ramesh Aras,48, a resident of Shivalli village in Udupi, was issued on Saturday.According to SP Hariram Shankar, five cases related to matka gambling have been registered against Ramraj at the Udupi Town police station. He has been convicted in four of the cases, while one case is currently pending trial before a court. Ramraj has been externed to Chikkamagaluru Town police station in Chikkamagaluru district.
