TNN Ludhiana: A group of men harassing a woman attacked her father when he stepped in to protect her. The incident took place in Haibowal. A case has been filed against six accused. The girl’s father told the police that the accused, who lived in the neighbourhood, used to stalk his daughter frequently, even surrounding her as she went to college and making obscene gestures. On March 21, he was going out with his daughter when the accused harassed her. When he objected, they assaulted him and his family members. Following the incident, the family approached the police and lodged a complaint.A case has been registered under sections 74 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 115(2) (Voluntarily causing hurt), 126(2) (Wrongful restraint), 351(2) (Criminal intimidation), 191(3) (Rioting) and 190 (Unlawful assembly) of BNS.Police said further action will be taken after investigation. Sub-inspector Krishan of Haibowal police station said that the accused are yet to be arrested and raids are on to nab them.
